This season it's all about 60's. Our muses are Jane Birkin and the legendary Twiggy. Let's look closer into it.
Muses
In fall and winter this and next year we are channeling our inner London's skixties chic from two of the most legendary women of all time so let's get to know them a little bit more.
Jane Birkin
Yes, that's the girl that Hermes head designer Jean-Louise Dumas named the Birkin bag after. She is now 67 years old former actress, singer, director and a songwriter. She was born in London. She acted in a lot of movies, such as Slogan, If Don Juan were a woman,..She also wrote a lot of songs (J'taime...moi non plus is the most famous). Her style is boho, rock n roll and so unique. She is known to be one of the best dressed woman. Mini-skirts, flare jeans, wedges, wide pants with boho prints, white t-shirts and a chunky glass pendant-a few of her signature pieces.
Twiggy
Or Lesley Lawson, who's now 64 years old, is most known for being a fashion icon of 60's and one of the first international supermodels. Later in life, she started acting and songwriting. She started wearing really short skirts which was really scandalous at the time, but later on the mini made it to covers of all fashion magazines. Another signature piece for her is the Shift dress, a short triangle shaped dress with a collar or a turtleneck. She also wore a lot of ribbed sweaters, men's accessories, loafers and knee high boots.
Trends in 2014/15 to copy
Mini-skirts
The return of the mini. Shorts dresses with a collar or a turtle neck in a triangle shape are a definite trend. Accessorize with knee high boots, loafers or sandals with colorful tights.
Long black coats
Long black coats. Slim or relaxed, it doesn't really matter as long as it's black and long. These two are from Fillipa K's.
Eccentric furs
Personally, I only own a black faux fur coat but I'm looking for something more colorful now. I just love all of this colors. Don't be afraid to experiment with colors and good luck finding your perfect fur coat this year.
A lot of knits
And I do mean a lot. Knit on kint may not work for you so just pick a cozy, oversized sweater and pair it with jeans or classic high-waisted trousers.
Prints
The 60's prints are back in style and Valentino shows us how to do it.
Gold
I'm a huge fan of gold color so this is heaven for me. If you don't feel like wearing a gold coat, just pick up a gold blazer.
Feather
A lot of feathers or just a few on your coat, it's the new trend and we're all loving it.
Military
I loved those Burberry printed coats, but you can also go extreme by wearing colorful coats with some shearling at the ends.
Ponchos
I'm so in love with ponchos since the Burberry show in London and you should be too. It's the biggest trend this season.
So, that's it for this season's trends, I will be updating you on new trends so don't go anywhere, Alicia x
